The NASA Rocket

"Don't forget to record the rocket launch today," Alan's dad reminded. "I won't," he answered. Alan and his dad were going to church on Sunday morning when they heard a big POP! The whole car dropped a couple of feet. Alan and his dad got out to see what happened. Someone played a dirty trick on them and put a bunch of nails on the road. "Teenagers these days," Alan's dad said. "When I was a kid it was a peaceful world." "I guess we're gonna have to sit here and wait for someone to drive by with spare tires," Alan said. "I guess you're right," Alan's dad said. They sat there for hours and hours until the ground started to shake. They heard a giant rumble. "It's the rocket, it's taking off!" Alan exclaimed. "It's not to far from here," Alan's dad said. "Maybe we'll see it." Next thing you know, approximately one hundred yards away they saw the rocket taking off with fire trailing behind. "Are there people on that rocket?" Alan asked. "There sure are," Alan's dad answered. They watched and watched and the rocket started to depart. Everything was looking great. The rocket disappeared into the distance. They couldn't see it anymore. "They're in space now, Alan," his dad said. "That's good to hear," Alan said. Four people drove by and they each gave Alan and his dad one spare. That equaled up to four. They put the new tires on and had to drive home because they missed church.

  1. Paul, Great story. I especially liked that there were so many kind people who stopped to give tires. Good rocket drawing too! Mom
